God is pleased when you PERFORM at your PEAK (Part 2)

This is the same for groups or nations as the overall performance of the group depends on the performance of the individuals. In a similar manner, there are many things we must do as part of living our lives in general. These include our jobs and many other things. The job is significant because it is the means by which we power every other area of our lives and ultimately determines how our lives pan out. We spend roughly 8 of our 24 hours a day in it and spend another 8 sleeping. This leaves us with another 8 for the many other things we need to do. The job or occupation therefore dominates our lives and defines how we serve our purpose—this is why it is referred to as the occupation because it occupies us like water occupies a glass. A job that makes us unhappy will then translate into an unhappy life which will mean an un-maximized life as no one ever gave their best in an unhappy state. If for any reason we are not giving off our best in the occupation, all areas of our lives wi...

God is pleased when you PERFORM at your PEAK (Part 1)

whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. Ecclesiastics 9:10 This is the wisdom of a man who’s wisdom the world is yet to see again. In the scripture he set the tone for a discussion on performance. What it doesn't appear to be saying is as important as what it is saying. Whiles there is the tendency to assume that scripture refers only to doing the work of God, we must also quickly see how the work of God translates into what God has purposed and wills for us to accomplish. Every activity is a part of the larger life God has granted us for his purpose. Your life is not exactly yours, God created it so he can accomplish something specific. Here is what he said to Jeremiah in  Jeremiah 1:6 Before I formed thee, I knew thee and ordained thee as a prophet unto he nation Paul supports this when he wrote in Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created ...

What you must BE you already ARE

As a performance coach, I have met many people who are oblivious of their gifts and what they represent in their lives. Disastrous as this is, it does not exactly stop us from engaging in any activity. For this reason we are able to either by emulating an influential person or following the latest trend, join a profession of our choice although it is not supported by our natural gift. It is a common thing to be influenced into a vocation by someone you look up to but the result is that we never really reach our full potential even though we work very hard . The modeling idea too often proposed by new age thinkers and coaches can be a real problem as we then discard the idea that each one of us was created for a specific purpose for the glory of God. This is the mother of all errors because not to walk in the will of God is the very definition of disobedience. While modeling itself as a concept is not wrong, like everything else it can be applied wrongly. The question of what ...
